Subaru WRX STI

The Subaru WRX Sti has a long-proven success history in Rally racing. Something which has captured the enthusiasm and passion of automotive enthusiasts around the world. My goal with this shoot was to bring the newest Sti offering back to where it impacted automotive history. Rally roads. A critical factor in achieving the impact I wanted was to communicate the visceral speeds these cars are capable of reaching off-road. Rather than using a complicated ‘move 'n shoot ‘ rig, we decided to approach the project using editing software to create the motion blur and dust effects in post-production. Leaving me free to compose the shots in any way I desired, with none of the restrictions often associated with car-mounted rigs. Shot on location in Thompson, Connecticut, over a time-frame of about 4 hours with a two-person crew and close to 40 hours of post-production.
